The SHARP GP2Y1010AU0F Dust Sensor (Analog Output) general purpose (0 to 1500 µg/m3)  is an optical dust sensor designed to detect airborne particles. It features a diagonally arranged infrared emitting diode (IRED) and a phototransistor, which sense the reflected light from dust in the air. This sensor is especially effective for detecting fine particles, such as cigarette smoke, and can distinguish smoke from household dust based on the pulse pattern of the output voltage.
